First Presbyterian Church of Tulsa Presbyterian Church

At the corner of 7th and Boston in downtown Tulsa sits First Presbyterian Church, widely known as the first church in town. Chartered in 1885 by a Presbyterian missionary and 15 Creek Indians, the church has occupied various buildings on this site since 1911. The structure housing the current sanctuary was built in 1925 and is reminiscent of 16th-century Gothic architecture. However, the church actually occupies a number of buildings on this corner. Call the church office for information on touring the facility. You visit this place on Sunday at 8am, 9.30am and 11am.

The church building itself is beautiful and inspiring. But the best part is the people and the pastors. The sermons are Biblical, informative and inspiring. The people are kind. friendly and compassionate. Everyone has their own idea of a great church but this one is certainly one of the best. There is something good there for any age group whether you prefer traditional or contemporary formats of worship. If you are from another nation there is a great International Fellowship Service. The church also has many ministries that reach out into the Tulsa community as well as home and foreign missions.

This church is so beautiful, and seeing it as the sun goes down is a whole new experience. So beautiful to watch the sky change colors against the silhouette of the building. The architecture is stunning and a beautiful jewel among the churches in Tulsa. Definitely worth a stop.

The building is beautiful, and worth checking out if you enjoy beautiful Gothic style architecture. The building houses a wonderful congregation of friendly, welcoming folks, so feel free to visit and check out the services some Sunday (or just watch it on TV to get a feel for the flow of the service).
