tripadvisorThis is grass roots theatre at it’s best! This is an outdoor theatre, away from the city but so worth the drive. Be sure to get there early to enjoy a beverage or snack before the play. You may unknowingly mingle with actors while enjoying the live music. The beautiful natural surrounds are the perfect back drop for the rustic and intimate theatre. We chuckled and guffawed at the campy, lighthearted production as fireflies and moths danced overhead and the cicadas provided the background music. This really is an experience not to be missed. Tip: take a cushion (no velvet theatre seating here) and take advantage of the provided bug spray, especially after any rain.
MoreIf you are interested in stage plays based from short skits, some funny some dark and moody. If you like waiting a while an open air bar with live acoustic guitar music while drinking wine and chatting with friends until it is curtain call. Well there are no curtains. The theater is an open wooden deck in the semi-round. The stage is on ground level and you are close enough to touch the actors. It is open above and the residential/city lights do not make it's mare on the horizon. You can see the sky and stars so clearly. This might be an interesting venue for you. I've seen plays that portray topics from realizing what Alzheimer is and does to people to a romance at Coney Island. Yes, it is a place where you need to think to understand the play. Love this place and my family and I try to make it a monthly visit. Oh yes, though the topics may not be what kids might like, although our daughter has come to enjoy sitting in the open air, it is definitely family friendly and decent.
