This was built in 1922 and is now a Marriott. I'm happy that Marriott wanted the building because of it's look and not try to change it. I walked past it at night so the neon sign was in all it's glory. It's a neat old building kept to it's original design.

No visit to Tulsa is complete without a quick jaunt inside the century-old Atlas Life building. This Insurance Company was founded in Tulsa in 1918 but grew so dang fast that it needed its own high-rise. The grand opening was 11-22-22. The company's logo was Atlas, from Greek mythology, who carries the world on his back, and whose statue is on top of the building facade. The company remained in business here until it was sold in 1991, but alas, you can pop in for some Art Deco goodies at last.

I wish they still built them like this. I didn't go inside, but the outside is just phenomenal. It's such a striking building and goes well with its neighbors. Very easy on the eyes.

I was told this building is 100 years old, yet it still retains its beautiful architecture. The Marriott took over a portion of it and we stayed on the seventh floor, which we were told was not included in the hotel's update in order to preserve its original state. It was very different walking the old hallway and entering a very nice updated room. The location was great for us...walking distance to all of our destinations. There is a deli type restaurant, cookie shop and a few other shops inside.

Love the deco of this place. I like to eat lunch at the Atlas Grill and take in the atmosphere. The coffee shop on the second floor is great for relaxing and having a cup while looking out over Boston Ave.
