Vishnu-devananda Yoga Vedanta Center Yoga

Traditional, Sivananda style yoga asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises) and relaxation techniques for balancing body, energy and mind. A great practice for decreasing stress and increasing awareness, as well as an excellent preparation for meditation. Meditation practice for enhancing our inner peace and poise, getting in touch with our deeper, inner-selves, and expanding beyond our limited mental constructs. Vedanta philosophy for a clear understanding of our true nature - not as a limited personality, a small body-mind "complex" complex, but as limitless, pure consciousness. These are the teachings of the ancient Rishis or seers from India, codified in the Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita and other Vedantic literature, and passed down from teacher to student. Upcoming: Intermediate yoga and meditation course - starts Sun 8/5/18 at 10:00 AM 8-session mixed-level yoga course - starts Weds 8/29/18 at 7:00 PM Vedanta course - ongoing Sundays at 8:30 AM. Currently studying "Tattva Bodha"
