One is struck immediately by the irony of this store's existence. Located right at the busy entrance to Pike Place Market, Seattle's commercial epicenter, it favors a left-leaning selection of titles. The selection includes everything from anthropology to literature and political science. The staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and the selection is comprehensive within its scope. If you've just arrived from the real Left Bank, you may find that this store goes some way toward soothing any homesickness you may feel.

Reviews
tripadvisorSurly, obnoxious, fascistic, violently intolerant staffers. This place is a nightmare. Don't reward their ugliness and cruelty.
MoreThe most interesting shop of all at Pike Place Market. Independent interesting bookstore. Some excellent finds. Seemed authentic. (Unlike the rest of Pike Market. )
MoreWe were asked to leave due to a shirt my son had on. Did not realize it was a political bookstore. Just looking to browse.
MoreI enjoyed the selection of books here. It's not all books on anarchy/socialism, it's small but they have a selection of lots of genres, and they have used as well as new books. It's fun to poke around and find a new title/author/genre that you wouldn't have otherwise found.
MoreI love this bookstore and stop in everytime I'm in Seattle. It's been here since the early 70's and shows that collective work ethics can work. They have a great collection of off beat books from obscure publishers on many topics. The staff is helpful and it's a great place to spend some time on a rainy Seattle afternoon just steps from Pike St. Market. Read a Book!
