Third Place Books

Books are an integral, timeless source of knowledge, which Ravenna's clearly recognizes. The entire bookshop is created from second-hand books and was formed by a group of book-lovers who just couldn't see these books go to waste. Every now and then the group comes together to discuss their latest favorites, with events like "Science on Tap" a discussion on all things science with alcoholic beverages also available from the adjacent pub. This is definitely the perfect place to sit and watch the world go by and meet a whole lot of interesting folks in the process.

Phinney Books

We're a general-interest neighborhood bookstore selling a carefully chosen selection of new books across a variety of categories: fiction, kids' books, essays, history, cookbooks, music, cities, nature and science, graphic novels, and Northwest titles, as well as cards, notebooks, and puzzles. And we'll always have lots of NYRB Classics on hand.

Quest Bookshop

Run by the Theosophical Society, Quest Bookshop specializes in books about spiritual traditions from both the East and West, as well as other topics which fall under the broad category of metaphysics. The shop carries more than 11,000 religious, mystical and new age titles, and you can order online, by phone or in person. The shop also sells crystals, tarot decks, a variety of tapes and CDs, incense and other supplies.

Secret Garden Bookshop

For more than 22 years (and through three owners), this bookstore has been delighting parents and children alike with its wonderful collection of hand-picked books. For children there are non-fiction, biography and poetry books. For adults there are books on parenting and about children, plus general-interest books. But for children and adults, the emphasis here is on literature. The shop regularly invites school groups to meet authors for readings and workshops.
