Attending Lee Harris event last weekend:With the positive reputation the BT has, I was shocked, and disappointed when the show had to be delayed because staff were slow in getting people in, but most disasterous was to have only one bathroom available for all attendees to use. Seriouolsy, this was a bush league effort. We will not be attending any event during the Boulder Film festival.

Hadn't been to a concert for a while at the BT, but just had to go see Steele Pulse (50th anniversary tour). I had a pretty decent time overall but didn't care for the hostility of a bartender. Not only was I occasionally getting beers during the show, I was standing and leaning against a steel pole next to the bar that supports the upper deck because I have a bad back, and I am not blocking anyone getting to the bar. Got nothing but attitude and go away you can't stand there. Other side of the bar was a much different story. Also ended up either dropping my t-shirt I bought or someone stole so had to buy another. So yes, IMHO, this place isn't very hospital anymore since Z2 took it over. Employees are crappy to patrons, it's cramped, and the tickets or drinks aren't cheap either. Frankly I think the Z2 monopoly on concert venues in Boulder, and in most of Colorado needs to be broken up. Nobody (employees, patrons, or performing artists) wins in a situation like that.

Saw Bombino last night. Really stupid setup with crappy chairs in rows all over the floor. Bombino is a seriously rocking guitarist and people need room to move. if you want to stand and try to dance you can go to the back to the (small) GA areas.Saw him in Fort Collins 3 years ago at Washington’s, a vastly superior venue with open floor and great acoustics.I really don’t know what they are thinking at Boulder with the crowded seating setup—much older population that needs to sit? Charge more $ for seat proximity? Was my first time at this venue. I was disappointed. Cool old theater, but no good for modern music shows.

I used to enjoy going to the Boulder theater for music. No more. My last two visits, one to see Al Di Meola o March 29, and one to see Lucinda Willamrs on April 19th, were unpleasant. The seating is now packed so close together that you can't move in or out of an aisle without everyone before you actually exiting the row. It's no longer sufficient to stand up and let people pass Also ,people talk incessantly during the performance. Not only is there no attempt to enforce quiet, but it seems as if some of the most egregious offenders are people employed by the theater. I love liv music, and there was a time when this was a comfortable theater with good acoustics, but no more.

I went here on Sataurday and the venue is super cool. They got us in there very quickly with a temperature check and escorted us to our seated area. The reason for 4 stars is that the waitress was very rude to us and we noticed that she was rude to other groups as well. The drinks were very cheap and they weren't serving tacos like advertised so that was a bit of a letdown. You can find street parking around there as well!
