I've seen plays at this neighborhood historic theatre since 1994 when my family moved to North Boulder. In the years since Tara Performing Arts High School purchased the venue, I've noticed more and more professional companies coming into the space to produce their work. Still, the intimate, community culture of the theatre's legacy is present here. I've also seen indie films here, Shakespeare film screenings from Stratford-Upon-Avon, and remarkably high quality performances by Tara High School students as well. This theatre is a Boulder treasure!

The Nomad has been responsible for fine theatre in Boulder since the 60s, I believe it was formed around a comune and is still available for community presentations, just not as regularly as in the past. We attended a concert/talent show very recently put on by a group of young people who are leaders in their communities from all over the world. The woman who brings these young people together works hard to bring people who would not usually find themselves sitting down together, Israelis, Palestinians, Hutu, Tutsis, people from Ferguson, Baltimore, you get the idea. And after a week or two long experience, they put on a show, and it was stunningly good. That's the kind of thing you hope to see here.
