Reviews
tripadvisorWe needed to spend a couple of hours in Glendale killing some time between appointments. We thought a trip to a historic downtown with antique shops, etc. would be fun. I don’t know how we might’ve missed it, I know we were in the right area, but there’s almost nothing to see. There are empty storefront, antique stores that are closed, buildings in disrepair and under construction. After looking through some of the comments, maybe it is a fun place to go at Christmas time with lights, etc. BUT This is peak tourist season in Arizona and there is nobody there again because there’s nothing to do.
MoreWorst downtown I’ve ever been in, almost everything is closed and the area is not good. Do not bother wasting time going
MoreWhen we are able, we like to stop by and see the lights. This year it was on a Friday, and we will never do that again.Parking was only available in the big public garage to the north, but it was free. The lights were pleasant and different from other years. The walk around the library is not hard and went well. What was the problem was the crowds of people, and trying to get your people in place for a picture.Don't plan on eating in any of the nearby restaurants unless you have reservations made well in advance.Security for one's self and personal items is important as there are always opportunists, but there is no need for fright. Go on another night during the week and it will be less busy. We like Glendale Glitters, but this review was downgraded because of the weekend crowds.
MoreA nice stopover on your way to Alberta. # of restaurants gas stations, some retail establishments. Sav-on, IGA Food stores, etc. Some are closed due to the coronavirus.
