Located near historic Faneuil Hall, this plaza honors one of Boston's old-time city bosses, James Michael Curley. Curley's notorious exploits and scrapes with the legal system spawned many a local legend. So relax in the plaza, perhaps while reading a copy of Edwin O'Connor's The Last Hurrah, believed to be a fictional account of Mayor Curley's life.

tripadvisorThe plaza is just a few step away from the holocaust memorial. I found it to be a great place to sit in the shade and people watch.
MoreThis is a small memorial, although it is in a very central location so hard to miss. The statues are very nice.
MoreAt the southern tip of the narrow space between Congress and Union Streets is a memorial to former congressman and Boston Mayor, James Michael Curley. In addition to a plague providing synopsis of Mayor Curley's political history, you can find two bronze figures of Curley, one standing and one seated on the park bench on a small circular plaza. The Curley Memorial can be quickly viewed just before or after spending time at Faneuil Hall Market as part of your Freedom Trail sightseeing. It is also worth having a look at the New England Holocaust Memorial that shares this narrow green space between Congress and Union.
MoreMy parents and I visited this small memoral to Mayor Curley. My parents knew him. The poor and middle class of Boston loved this man. He did a lot of wonderful thing for the people of Boston. I saw this a while ago a few years so Its wrong when I put down the date
