St. Francis Xavier Church is the tallest church of Missoula built-in 1892 by the architecture, Mr. Blanchard, under the observation of the priest Father Diomedi. The interiors are of the church as much as mesmerizing as the exteriors. There are beautiful paintings that are more than 100 years old, the paintings were painted by the brother of the Society of Jesus and a kitchen helper when they had free time. So if you are in the city do not miss out on visiting this church and seek some blessing.

tripadvisorBeautiful church inside, nice paintings. There is a pipe organ in the loft but unfortunately, it was not used for the early morning mass we attended – instead we got best of the Catholic 70s and 80s on the piano (not our favorite). Additional notes for travelling Catholics attending mass here: The music for the mass ordinary settings were very uncommon settings, so that was disappointing. No bells at consecration at this parish. Piano prelude music would have been just as suitable as background music in a restaurant (barely recognizable as anything liturgical). Super schmaltzy. 7th chord to modulation to arpeggios - and then we had what sounded like the Jesuit Tango. Some traditional Catholic music would have been nice, especially given the aesthetic of this building. Icing on the cake was end of mass when the piano launched into “What the world needs now is love sweet love”.
MoreAttended a funeral for a close friend who was a World War II veteran. Service was wonderful. Ceiling and frescos are fabulous.
MoreThis is a beautiful church. They have a steeple with the cross at the very top. The church is built with red bricks. They have stained-glass windows. There are several doors to enter. Church on Sunday is at 8 A.M., 10 A.M. and 6 P.M. Behind the church is a monument about the virgin Maria. This was built in 1992
MoreVery pretty church. Travel for work and often stay over the weekend. Try to find a Catholic Church to go to Mass.
MoreA Pristine Old Church. The Stained Glass the Alter are beautiful. Such a reverent feeling. Seen a Daughter and Grandson confirmed there. Truly a memorable place.
