This is a small park with paved parking and walkways. There is a tiny playground, lots of benches and a military history museum (free admission, but odd hours).

MacArthur park is a locals park where you can wonder around the grassed area. There a kiddies play area and a war memorial. The out door restrooms were disgusting as there was no toilet tissue paper and people had a poo in the middle of the floor of the restroom. When in the restrooms people from outside can see you using the facilities as the outer doors of the restroom are always open. A very basic grassed park area for the locals.

The MacArthur Park Historic District contains a well-preserved collection of Victorian buildings containing some of the city's finest surviving late Victorian architecture, including a number of Second Empire houses. Visitors can walk around and view these buildings situated together in their own area of the park. This Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
