Sword Gate House
Historical Monument
Sword Gate House in South Carolina is believed to have been built in the early 19th Century in sections and redecorated too. The sword gates were put in the high brick wall in 1859. Each gate has two vertical spears that meet at the placed horizontal broadsword center forming a cross. Hence, the name. The house has seen several changes in the late 19th Century.

A beautiful gate made by ironsmith Christopher Werner. Definitely worth a stop during a walk South of Broad.
