The trail is lovely. Paved for easy walking and lots of green on either side. HOWEVER (and this is a big however), there are wild pigs closer to the landfill. They come out on the trail. I talked to a gentlemen walking the path and he said that (1) the pigs come out in the evening (I was walking around 7:20pm) and (2) the pigs used to run away from humans…. Tonight, though, I encountered one that did not run away, but rather shook its head and jumped around aggressively, and also followed me for a while. I could not really safely turn around to walk back the other way. Be careful!

This could be a nice place to take your kids to ride their bikes in cooler weather. There is not much to look at and it is very hot in the warmer months.

Easy access off the highway. Lots of parking. Well-maintained path for the most part, with a couple of exceptions. Bridge under repair. Not too many people, and not too many bicyclists. Easy walk surrounded by trees most of the way.

We took our toddler out to ride his bike on the trail, not knowing what to expect. The end of the bridge crossing the river was under construction, so we had to walk through a little mud, then the trail further down was completely closed for some other construction project (couldn’t tell what it was). Only shade along the whole trail was where the ramp crosses under the bridge. If it had been a cooler day, that wouldn’t have been a problem.

This is an awesome place to go for a walk. Nice concrete pathway, walking bridge under the highway, plenty of parking and busy enough to feel safe. Path is long enough to make it worth while. Nice scenery, you will meet cyclists, joggers, and walkers. Don't recommend summer, unless you are an early bird. Obvious reasons. We live in central Texas.
