The Tin Lizzie Saloon just might be the best gay and lesbian bar in all of Orange County. With an interior that resembles a Victorian lounge, the atmosphere of this bar is welcoming for anybody who might want a drink. The bartenders are very friendly and the cocktails are strong and reasonably priced. There is also a pool table that is constantly in use and a jukebox. Whether you wish to hang out with some friends or simply enjoy a drink by yourself, Tin Lizzie Saloon is the place to be.

tripadvisorI've been coming here for over 10 years. Never have I ever personally witnessed such a failure of customer service as I have seen in the last 2 days...If I didn't see and hear it with my own senses, I actually wouldn't believe it.But, here we are.I am seeing red and can barely think straight. Words cannot describe my seething anger, and I feel hate bubbling up as my insides boil.***Strike 1***: Steven Manager UNEQUIVOCALLY fails to do his job, which is to pour wine into a wine glass, as is standard at any establishment that cares about its' customers at all. Why did he do this? Heard him say it's because HE doesn't like wine. Okay? So WHAT if YOU don't like wine? It's what your CUSTOMER wants?! Also, pouring wine into a tumbler, what is this, a decades long established bar, or a kegger at some frat house? Do you have NO work ethic or brand loyalty to the Tin's image... at all? Do you WANT it to just be a poorly dive bar by cutting as many lazy corners as imaginable? Are red solo cups on the way?!Don't you KNOW as a purveyor of alcohol how wine degrades VERY quickly in standard shaped glasses? Wine is the FIRST ALCOHOL. Humanity has been working with it for THOUSANDS OF YEARS. Wine glasses, their shape, their purpose... IS NOT AN ACCIDENT. You think you can come in after thousands, LITERAL THOUSANDS, of years of history, culture, and actual science of understanding how wine behaves in different glasses, and just, *throw that all away* because of what? Your holier than thou arrogance? You know something actual billions of people across all of history didn't know, or something?Maybe you need to watch some educational videos on wine and wine glasses, because clearly you must think that all alcohol is the same, meant to be downed as fast as possible, so why not just pour it all into a tumbler?Let's review. Someone pays a LOT of money for wine and you LITERALLY try and destroy their product because of YOUR narcissistic laziness? Let's remind everyone the definition of narcissism: Narcissism is extreme self-involvement to the degree that it makes a person ignore the needs of those around them.Because YOU don't like wine? Because YOU don't want to clean a wine glass or something? Honestly why should anyone in the universe care that YOU don't like what they like when it is YOUR JOB to serve THEM? When they are PAYING for the experience? And then you refuse to provide the BARE MINIMUM experience about it?Do we forget? That part of the wine drinking experience is also the image? You know what's attractive? A confident person holding a wine glass in that fancy way and giving you a smile. *whistles* Phew! They know, we know it, it's part of the image of a wine drinker: the glass. You know what's a total not that experience at all? A tumbler. Then, when the DECADES LONG REGULAR tries to ask about the bare minimum experience they not only were expecting because of all of the years of it being that way and the fact that it IS the proper way to do things, when a customer tries to hold you accountable to do your job, you kick him out and tell him he's no longer welcome? What the actual -insert word here-?!That regular and us other regulars pour SO MUCH money into this establishment, and you can't even give us the BASIC level of respect of not ruining our drinks because you're too lazy?***Strike 2***: I was getting water before leaving, and noticed Steven Manager filling a plastic cup for me. At FIRST I tried to compliment him on the idea, because I was thinking, Oh great, I can just take this cup and go. (Turns out I was wrong, as the bouncers reminded me that no open containers are allowed to leave the bar, even if it is water.) But you know what I heard Steven Manager say about the it?Yeah I don't get paid to clean that -explitive-.Actually you DO get paid to clean ALL the explitive. Wait a second. You trying to treat your work like it's commission based only? You don't want to lift a finger if you're not getting a dollar for it EVERY time? Maybe you should go work in a factory where that kind of thinking is appropriate. If someone spills something, you gonna go well I don't get paid to clean that up and just leave the mess there?CANNOT ignore the attitude which MUST be at the core of this logic:You're just an inconvenience to me, even if you are paying me, and you can only bribe good customer service out of me because deep down I actually couldn't care less. Oh, and don't you dare demand what you deserve, or I'll ruin your night.***Strike 3***: Tonight I hear this, as he is speaking to another customer:...yeah people getting uppity over wine glasses...U P P I T Y ? ? ?So NOW you're even talking about people behind their backs when YOU were the one who failed to do your job? Also? LYING, because I KNOW that regular is NOT... u p p i t y.He is actually a class act; one of the most respectful regulars I know.***STRIKE 4***: COVER YOUR PHONES. The bartender will invade your privacy and will read who you are messaging with. This is how the other regular was tossed; he was texting with the owner, peacefully, to ask about the glasses. Bartender invading privacy sees this, and bans him.Do YOU want YOUR bartender invading YOUR privacy? This is pathetic.
MoreI have never been so insulted by an establishment as I was tonight. I am in Entertainment in Los Angeles. I was showing a friend from Florida - Orange County. I had just explained how people in Orange County were so much friendlier then Los Angeles until we got to this bar. My friend who is 23 with a valid drivers license from Florida the door man would not let in. It was unbelievable. My friend is black. I'm not sure it was racist or what but it was amazing. He had proper ID. A state drivers license from Florida, the newer ones that can't be faked. He kept saying he needed other picture ID. Who carriers multiple ID to a bar? Many times you carry as little as possible so it doesn't get stolen. I tried to reason with him. I'm am older man. All was to no avail. We ask for a manager and he said there was none except him. Which I don't believe. This doorman was abrasive, rude and a jerk. There is no excuse for this kind of behavior. There was no way this doorman was correct. He was a short stocky white dude. He was really being a jerk. He should be fired. There was no reason for his behaviour. It was unmerited, he was being arbitrary and difficult. If you are visiting don't come here, you will need all kinds of ID that no one carries. As a professional business man and owner I was stunned by this doorman. He was being a bigot, jerk or something. WHATEVER YOU DO FIND A MORE WELCOMING INCLUSIVE PLACE.

MoreTo be fair, my wife and I stopped in on a Monday night while in town for a wedding so we weren't expecting much. Good thing, this bar left much to be desired. The bar tender had to finish her conversation about wanting to learn to bake before taking our drink order, then it took a good ten minutes to get her attention a second time to get the TV channel changed. Why was I bothering with that, you ask? Because the TV at our end of the bar was tuned to a holocaust documentary. Not exactly the vibe we were hoping for.
