My favorite place to run outdoors. It's not super busy during the week but can get a little busy on the weekends and the view is outstanding.

Orange County can be stressfull. The Back Bay, as us old timers call it, is a wonderful place to stretch your legs, bird watch, and just savor some peace and quiet.

Birding, small animals seen, fresh air, a sea breeze, safe and easy walking, parking adjacent, Art shows, center with rangers, careful of snakes, dusty and dirty, wear good and strong shoes.

Upper Newport Bay Regional Park is an escape from the urban jungle. Feels like a million miles away from civilization, but so close.

This is a great place to walk in the early mornings or at sunset. There are several trails of different lengths to suit anyone. It makes you feel like you are surrounded by nature and not houses and the airport. I do enjoy airplanes overhead, but some people do not. It is fun to see the occasional horseback riders and if you are a bird-watcher, there are lots to feast your eyes on!
