Located across the South Harbor Boulevard, the Observatory is a small yet popular music venue. Featuring local and renowned artists/bands throughout the year it plays different music genres. Apart from the main room, The Observatory also has a smaller room namely, the Constellation Room that also hosts concerts. Apart from that, it also has a full-fledged kitchen and a well-stocked bar making it an ideal place for some good music and great dinner.

Views were amazing in the venue. However, the bar food was burnt. Also, organization of entry - awful! My husband and I purchased a fast lane pass as it’s supposed to let you in an hour before the show onto the patio. This did not happen. It is also unclear on their website of who gets let in first - fast lane or vip? From my perspective, VIP typically gets meet and greet and stays inside the venue and then fast lane pass should go in earlier than GA. This gives people time to use bathroom, purchase merch, get drinks, and find a place to stand/sit without fighting for it with GA. When you pay more, you should get more amenities, but it felt careless. Overall, enjoyed the show, but the part that’s supposed to help make it personable felt disorganized. I was also rudely told when asking about where we park that they don’t live there and don’t know. Um… you are working for the venue and should have that knowledge.

Not a planetary, but probably the best venue in OC, and one of the best in Greater LA. Saw Cradle of Filth and then Carcass. Parking is $10; drink prices are standard ( you can probably get crackled for about $40-60). Not much to do since it is kind of in the business/industrial area of Santa Ana, but there are hot dog vendors outside + In and Out ( granted i cannot stand their Bible references on the burger wrappers). But venue is solid. Great acoustics. Plus, you can see the stage from far away.

Went last week 12/15/2022 to see X. Had a terrible experience. We were into the band's 3rd song when we our incident occurred. We were standing on the floor and decided to leave the floor due to the crowd moshing. We didn't want to be with the mosh pit, because we've been there done that. So, we decided to go to the upper level. My brother started walking up the stairs, I followed to help him due to an injury that causes him to limp. Well, the security guard started helping him up the stairs, which I thought was a nice gesture, even patted him on the back and thanks him for helping us. He escorted my brother outside and of course I followed then told him to sit down until he figured out what he did. He did nothing. He was moving at of harm's way because he knew he couldn't handle the crowed after not fully recovering from a stroke. They then proceeded to tell him they were going to have the EMT evaluate him. I kept telling them he was walking the way he was walking because he wasn't fully recovered from a stroke, he had a little over a year ago. It was so unprofessional of them to detain him. Needless to say, I ended up getting kicked out for mouthing at them, because I was defending my brother. I would have to say i'll never be coming back.

It's a great sight to see. However once you go up there it's hard to get service on your phone. My friends and I have to walk all the way down the mountain in order to get an uber. The observorty is beautiful nice and very informative. The view is amazing and you can see L.A. Once again amazing....

I absolutely love little venues, and little venues where any place you stand is good are even better. I have seen two shows here; The Psycho Realm and Meg Meyers. I would not hesitate to see ANY show here. It is in a weird little industrial/ medical area. Parking isn't cheap. It is the cost of a show, so walk a little and park for free somewhere else. (Plus it gives you more time to cool down when you leave the venue.) It is across the parking lot from an urgent care, so there is that if the pit gets to me too much. I don't drink alcohol, so I couldn't tell you if the prices are reasonable, but the cost of water is reasonable. I am not sure what food they serve because both times I have been I have eaten nearby. Their calendar is on-line. Look up what is playing and buy tickets. I drive up from San Diego and it is so worth it!
