tripadvisorWe visited Waco Lake at the Lake Waco RV Park and Marina. It is a beautiful lake with several parks available to access and enjoy the lake. You can pull your boat up to the Minnow restaurant and enjoy some food and music, go fishing, sailing or tubing or just sit by the lake and watch the seabirds. Travel to the east side of the lake and you will feel far away from the City. It is like another world. We hope to come back with our boat to enjoy the water and do some fishing!
MoreI don’t know if visitors to Waco fully appreciate the incredible sunset you get over the lake, with a bit of cloud cover in sky. And, the drive around the bend in Lakeshore Drive al ISY always is a treat as the lake comes into view. Nice drive by at sunset tonight ...
Morebeautiful army corp. of engineers park. easy access off of hw. 6 just south of city. quiet, if you dont want hwy. noise stay in non full hook up spaces. 1 through 6 near water edge, 7 and up are in trees with lots of shade. clean .boat early windy afternoons. easy access to mcdonalds, h.e.b. cefco. reservations recomended its close to downtown attractions. no tight corners in park makes access great.
MoreI think it speaks well of this lake that it is so accessible to the highway, downtown, and most of Waco‘s neighborhoods. Sunsets from various places, particularly Koenig (sp?) Park, off Lakeshore, can be outstanding if the cloud cover is just right. Lots of peaceful places to contemplate simple good things.
MoreWe have lived in Waco an d boated on Lake Waco for almost 25 years, not huge, not overly deep, no real nice sandy beaches to pull up to... but is in town and OUR LAKE! Fishing gets better every year too!
