tripadvisorTucked away deep in Pike Place Market, Lamplight Books is one of those charming little spots you might walk past a few times before realizing it’s there. My cousin and I were basically playing hide and seek because I couldn’t find where she was. Lol. I had a hard time finding it, but once I finally did totally worth it!This cozy bookstore feels like stepping back in time. Shelves are stacked with a mix of used, vintage, and classic books, and honestly… they smell like it too. Lol. There’s just something comforting about that old-book scent. You’ll find everything from fiction and poetry to rare finds and children’s titles tucked in the corners. It’s small, quiet, and slightly perfectly imperfect in the best way because every shelf feels like a treasure hunt! The nostalgic vibe makes you want to linger a little longer. Priced fair, service is fast.If you love books with history and personality, this is a sweet little hidden gem worth discovering inside Pike Place. A nice escape from the Market’s buzz just you, the books, and that unmistakable paper and ink smell.
MoreCome for the vibe, stay for the books! If you check my history, you'll gather that I visit Pike Place a lot. Somehow, I'd managed to never go into this store until recently; and you shouldn't put it off! Wall to wall books, jammed tight with shelves of classics and treasures. Stop in if you get the chance!
MoreWhile visiting pike place market you need to find this hidden gem. Lots of book and lots of history in the market. The owner is very knowledgeable and helpful. Lots of books on a million subjects. Plan on spending some yime here.
MoreAlthough I have been to Pike's Market and its environs several times it was only today that I stumbled upon Lamplight Books, and I was glad I did. The store has a good selection of used books and is well worth an extended drop-in. I picked up one classic tome by Robert Graves and it looked like there was much more there to sift through. The fellow behind the counter was welcoming and friendly. The store is all the way in the back of one of the mini-malls on Pike Place, you have to look for it. In fact, I think I was heading for the restroom when it came into view. Enjoy.
MoreThough I am not crazy about used book stores, I thoroughly enjoyed perusing through the books at the Lamplight. The person who checked us out was helpful and friendly. We all ( grandma, parents, and teens) found something of interest and left with books I'm hand and smiles on our faces.
