tripadvisorFun indie in the heart of Seattle. Much bigger inside than you would think! Everything was labeled and in order but it still had that local bookstore feel. Loved all the staff picks and everyone was very friendly.
MoreThis bookstore is quite vast and cozy at times. The staff is knowledgeable in certain genres. And this is probably why the crowds, even on weekdays and evenings, get a bit more attention. The indoor cafe can be at times quite full and lines formed for either orders or the bathrooms.
MoreOn a recent visit to Seattle, I made my first visit to Elliott Bay Book Company in many years. I always love browsing bookstores and perusing Elliott Bay is a wonderful way to spend time. The store is quite large but is easy to navigate. On the upper level, there is an extensive sale section which offered some good finds. While the store was quite busy on the day I visited, I did not feel rushed or overwhelmed by the traffic.
MoreThey were extraordinary. The man who worked the info desk on Thursday July 17 around mid day helped me find the books I needed. He went above and beyond by choosing two books for me based on my tastes. They were both so good. He made my visit extraordinary.
MoreSupport your local independent bookstores! Elliott Bay Book Co. is up there with the best of them. You can often find author events with book signings or join a book club here. Their expansive book selection is beautifully organized, and they frequently rotate their featured titles and staff recommendations, so visiting the bookstore always feels new. There's also an upstairs section with more niche genres and some tables for reading. If you regularly purchase books, they have a stamp card you can use to get a discount after spending a certain threshold.
