We went to see the historic site of Leland Stanford Winery which is located in Fremont, California. If one is hiking Mission Peak, one can see it on the way there or back. There is a historical plaque and the winery itself. (Note: This is a historic site to see - not a winery where you can taste wine). The winery ws founded in 1869 by Leland Stanford. He was a railroad builder, Governor of California, United States Senator, and Founder of Stanford University.
