Built in 1930, the Fremont Veterans’ Memorial Building is not only a historical building but a prominent landmark as well. Showcasing elements of the California Spanish style, the building, designed by Henry Haight Meyers in association with George R. Klinkhardt and Mildred S. Meyers, features unevenly textured walls, old Spanish-style light fixtures, red Spanish tiles, maple floors and stencilled trusses. Part of ten such buildings constructed in the region between 1927 to 1935, the Fremont Veterans’ Memorial Building is a must visit during your time in the region, especially if you are an architectural enthusiast.
