This is a neighborhood park located in Prospect Park, a national historic district south of downtown West Palm Beach. Bounded by Lake Worth, S Dixie HWY, Monceaux Rd, and Monroe D, the neighborhood is made up of homes built in 1922 through 1945 and which are known for their large yards and Mediterranean architecture. Prospect Park was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2011.Centrally located in the neighborhood is Prospect Park with a fountain, gazebo with benches, and large fields of grass for reading, relaxing, or playing with the dog. Just be careful where you step because not everyone picks up after their dog. I got a chuckle from the no swimming sign posted next to the fountain. Perhaps someone tried once? In any case the fountain no longer has any water and is not currently operating.I usually find the parks of West Palm Beach to be immaculate but this one could used a little sprucing up. I did however enjoy checking out the beautiful homes in this historic neighborhood.
