Okeeheelee Park

One of the most prominent parks in the county, Okeeheelee is a beautiful place with a great deal to offer. Fittingly given the Seminole name for quiet waters, it is a widely popular spot for freshwater fishing. Nature and sports lovers also come here for its tennis center, BMX track, golf course, water skiing, athletic fields, running and bike trails, and a nature center.

Dyer Park

The enormous Dyer Park in West Palm Beach boasts 405 acres of things to do. Sports facilities include a baseball field, three football or soccer fields, two basketball courts and two sand volleyball courts. It also has a four-mile bike path, a three-mile mountain bike trail and a three-and-a-half-mile equestrian trail. Picnic areas with grills are available, and there are lakes for freshwater fishing. Free admission and plenty of free parking. This place is open daily.

Palm Beach Zoo & Conservation Society

More than 1,400 animals call this 23 acre (3.3 hectare) zoological garden their home. Throughout the year, the zoo offers special children's programs, guided tours and interesting demonstrations. Florida Pioneer Trail, Florida Wetlands, Tropics of the Americas, and the Henry and Charlotte Kimelman Tiger Habitat are some of the most popular exhibits here. This place gives children as well as adults an elaborate account of wildlife and the importance of conservation thus making every visit an educative as well as fun experience. 

Grassy Waters Nature Preserve

Grassy Waters Preserve is a wetlands ecosystem that serves as the freshwater supply for West Palm Beach. It consists of tree islands, wetlands, forested hammocks, and a plethora of unique wildlife, including the wood stork, everglades snail kite, white ibis, and great blue heron.  Grassy Waters Preserve also has hands-on educational activities for kids of all ages, as well as trails of varying lengths free of charge. From hiking and canoeing to free field trips and more, Grassy Waters is the ideal place to relax, observe nature, and enjoy your surroundings.
