You will not see wolves in this park, but you will see many interesting things in a beautiful Bay setting. Both large ships and pleasure boats enter and leave the Port of Galveston through this island basin, and you can watch it all from a three-story pavilion in the park. Beyond the beauty of the sea, the main attractions are the displays of military vessels. Take a peek at the World War II submarine, Cavalla, or the destroyer, USS Stewart, among others. Tours are available on request. Kids will enjoy the fishing pier and playground. See website for admission prices and more.

tripadvisorWe hadn't originally planned to visit Seawolf Park, but had some time in the morning and headed out to explore. There is a fee to enter/park, which was quite reasonable. I was so impressed with this park - it is wonderful! So clean, nice features like the fishing pier, playground, lots of grassy areas. We even met a nice lady from the dolphin research group. Everyone here seemed to really enjoy the relaxing fishing venue, and it was nice to walk around and enjoy the park. We also visited the Naval Museum here, which I highly recommend.
MoreIt's $10 just to come to the park, and there are no real bathrooms, no shade around the playground , no benches for parents to sit around the playground... the playground itself is very nice, but what are you doing with that admissions money??? How do moms change their babies and toddlers in a porta potty? And so much for low income families having access to the facilities.
MoreLoved the beautiful park on the east point of Pelican Island. It was a Sunday and the park had many family visitors and fishermen. The playground is new and extensive. Picnic shelters helped block the wind coming in from the waters. There was a $10. fee for parking.
MoreSeawolf Park is worth hunting for—it's a true hidden gem! It's not easy to find, but there's lots to do at a reasonable price. This is a city park in Galveston. Unless you are a resident, you'll pay to enter the park area. The charge is nominal and well worth it. There's a nice playground and picnic area with great views of the inner bay and ship channel. The real stars here are the classic US Navy ships- USS Stewart [ WWII escort] and the USS Cavalla [WWII Submarine]. You pay one small fee to enter both ships on a self-guided tour. The ships are air-conditioned and are under slow restoration. You are allowed entry to most areas of the ships. Well worth the time and $$. These ships were a hit with the grandkids --- there is much to climb, explore, and discover. A great way to spend an afternoon.
MoreThe submarine was by far one of the best historical ship tours we've ever had. This definitely rates up there with the Lexington and the Texas.
