I visited Fredericksburg for a family holiday in 2015, 2018, and 2020. Everytime I come, I visit all the art galleries I could go around to. Brushstrokes is the one gallery that I keep coming back to. The docents are nice, the artwork is pleasant to look at, and the neighborhood has a great local scene that my hometown does not provide. I visited on First Friday in summer of 2018 and it was a lovely atmosphere full of local artists and packed with people.

Brushstrokes is a wonderful gallery in Fredericksburg with local artists. The prices are reasonable and the art is fantastic. It is tucked away in the back of the building and easy to miss, but well worth your time. From intricate porcelain painting to welded sculpture, there’s a nice variety of work. It was great to see that one of the artists who actually crafted the pieces working at the store, not just a regular retail storefront. Will return again.
