This is me and mom in 2015. We looked a little different in 1986 when we bought Frame Designs. But in all the years since then we have not changed a bit in what we feel is important. Preserving and enhancing your art or family treasures is paramount to us. Doing it all with the creative touch of an artist and skill of a master craftsman has kept us in business for almost three decades. We treat our customers how we wish to be treated, and we care for each piece of work as if it were a masterpiece. How we came to own Frame Designs is an interesting story. I had graduated from college a year before with a degree in art education and had spent a year trying to teach art in an inner city vocational technical school. Mom had moved to Fredericksburg to be closer to her kids after Dad died. I got the heck out of Baltimore and moved in with mom. The night I moved in we talked about the rest of our lives and what we wanted to do. We both wanted to own a business. Mom's parents and brother had owned an art gallery and I had worked in a frame shop. The next day Frame Designs was listed for sale in the paper, and we fell in love with it. We took a leap of faith 3 months later and bought it on November 10, 1986. November 2021 will be 35 years in business and we look forward to another 20 more.
