tripadvisorI stopped at Pawnee State Recreation Area on a Sunday afternoon in Mid-October. I was looking for a walk near the lake. I hiked one of the trails that did have some lake views. I never saw anyone else on my walk. Very peaceful. This is a large area and I was only the for a couple hours
MoreVery quiet and clean campground area 3.They definitely need more signs to direct people to the different camping areas.
MoreThis is a great spot for a day at the beach, camping overnight and boating and fishing. The baot launch also has several docks for keeping your boats overnight. I saw a nice disk golf course. There is a beach on the camp side as well as the public day use side.
MoreVisited for a day trip from Lincoln. Out of state entrance was $8. Lake had a few boats and jet skis on it but not too much traffic. Beach area is nice sand and shallow swim area. Signs posted say no pets but several dogs on leash were seen throughout the day. Not sure why no pets... Seems like a place for people to bring pets, especially while camping! The area was very littered with trash and other items but we were there the day after 4th of July weekend, so guessing they had not yet had time to clean it up and visitors did not do it themselves (it's a state park, people should clean up after themselves!).
MoreVery peaceful lake. Wish the trails were maintained better. But camp sights are clean and good size.
