This 668-acre (270.33 hectare) nature center is a nice place to get away from the city and take a walk. Both a wildlife sanctuary and an arboretum, the park has miles of easy hiking trails that pass through native woodlands, skirting quiet ponds and streams. Two interpretive buildings at the nature center are generally geared towards children and allow hands-on wildlife education. Both children and adults can enjoy the native Nebraska animal exhibits that include bison, great horned owls, red fox and wild turkeys. The nature center is located near the playgrounds, duck ponds and golf course at Pioneers Park.
