The San Dieguito River Park is an ongoing project that began in 1989 with the joint efforts of several cities and San Diego county. The San Dieguito River Park strives to create and maintain 2,000 acres of trails that stretch from Julian to the Pacific Ocean. Among other areas people can hike or bike through, the San Dieguito River Park includes Lake Hodges, San Pasqual Valley, and Volcan Mountain. For those who would like to enjoy a unique experience, the San Dieguito River Park hosts various activities, such as a backyard bird-calling class, hikes, or various other activities.
