Harvey Milk Plaza

At the intersection of Castro and Market Street, you will come across colorful crossings and fluttering pride flags on poles. If you go down the stairs on the sidewalk, you will see a fenced area with some old pictures. This is the renowned Harvey Milk Plaza of San Francisco. As a way to reminisce California's first gay politician elected to be on the board of San Francisco Supervisors, the plaza was opened near the Metro Station. Festooned with some of his old pictures and LGBTQ flags, this place is a poignant yet aesthetic way of honoring Harvey Milk's contribution.
