A collaboration between Tim Haahs and Javier Sánchez, Museum Garage is yet another innovative structure in Miami Design District's repertoire of fascinating innovations. Splashes of color dapple the seven-storey building cast in concrete which features a vibrant exterior, and the designers explain the idea as having been inspired by a blend of different styles and patterns. The garage is a result of the effort of five designers, each talented in their own right. Several sources, including a video game, have contributed to the final product which is reminiscent of a distorted puzzle in some sections of the colorful building, while the others feature ingenious designs which never cease to fascinate!
Located in the very heart of downtown Miami, this three-acre complex is one of the city's major focal points. The Miami-Dade Cultural Center consists of the Miami Art Museum, the Miami-Dade Public Library, which contains four million holdings and also offers art exhibits, and the Historical Museum of Southern Florida. In the midst of this cultural mecca you will also find a tranquil courtyard in which to enjoy quiet moments under the South Florida sun.
