Encompassing the eponymous natural lake, Caddo Lake State Park features picturesque sloughs and bayous, and its landscape is dominated by towering cypress trees which loom over the swamp and wetland. Visitors can canoe or row their boats down the tranquil channel as they breathe in the fresh air and bask in the glorious nature of their incredible surroundings. As many as 71 species of fish thrive in the lake, and visitors can also catch a glimpse of alligators in the vicinity. Fishing, paddling, and hiking are some other activities to be engaged in, and the park offers a number of cabins and campsites. It is also home to frogs, raccoons, snakes, minks, white-tailed deer, squirrels, turtles, and waterfowls.
