Manoogian Mansion is the official abode of Detroit's mayor. Constructed in 1928, the former residence of business man, Alex Manoogian, was later donated to the city in 1966. The mansion has about 15 rooms spread over 370 square meters (4000 square feet) with terra-cota tiling, 6 bedrooms, 2 dining halls, etc. Visitors can admire Mediterranean Revival-Spanish Colonial Revival Style architecture of the 20th Century. The mansion also has a boat house that serves alongside the Detroit river.
Well-known as the third-oldest fire station in the city, the Engine House No. 18 is a two-level red brick structure with a hip roof. There are two engine bays that are present on the first level, and the complex also consists of a station office, kitchen, a dinning room and recreation area. The second level comprises of sleeping quarters, officer's room, and locker room. This building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
