Immortalized as one of the sites where Lewis and Clark camped during their historic expedition, the Missouri Headwaters State Park is skirted by the meandering rivers of Gallatin, Madison and Jefferson. These three rivers weave together to form the mouth of the Missouri River, one of the longest rivers in America. This site of confluence is a notable feature of the park, and is famously known as the Three Forks of the Missouri. Sprawling across 215 hectares (532 acres), this expansive park hosts an arsenal of outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, biking, and boating.
