Museum of Cape Fear Historical Complex

Get to know the history and culture of southern part of North Carolina at Museum of the Cape Fear Historical Complex. Travel through the times of the Native Americans to the colonial era, slavery and steamboats, Civil War and folk pottery at the main museum. Head to the 1897 Poe House for an insight of the African-American heritage, influential women and economic understanding of a bygone period. The Arsenal Park has remnants of the Confederacy ammunition which was destroyed. The museum also hosts annual events such as the Festival of Yesteryear and Halloween Revels.

Mazerick Park

Mazarick Park covers an area of 80 acres (32.37 hectares). The park offers a range of activities and amenities to its visitors. Glenville lake at the park is a popular site for fishing.
