Spread across 33 acres (13.35 hectares) of land, Red River Zoo originally opened in 1999. The zoo began with a mere 8 acres (3.23 hectares) of space, but expanded over the years, and now is home to a huge collection of over 70 species of animals. The native and exotic animals from around the world are kept in their natural habitat conditions. Various programs, designed for people of varying age groups, make a visit to the Red River Zoo an educative and joyful one.
