One of the most awe-inducing pieces of art and architecture in Albuquerque, the Torreón is a symbol of Hispanic culture. Located in the complex of National Hispanic Cultural Center, the stucco finished round exteriors of Torreón are striking however they are hardly a giveaway to the vibrant frescoes that it houses inside. Painted by Frederico Vigil, the brightly colored frescoes depict the rich Hispanic history that spans from the Iberian Peninsula to American Southwest. The breathtaking painting is the largest fresco in North America with an area of 4000 square feet. Rich imagery that reflects a culture that is extremely diverse, the NHCC Torreón is a must-visit for art and history lovers.
