Nestled in the beautiful Conservatory Garden in Central Park, Burnett Fountain was built in memory of the late author Frances Hodgson Burnett. Burnett is known for her classic novels like Little Lord Fauntleroy and The Lost Prince. Designed by the sculptor Bessie Potter Vonnoh, the sculpture features the characters Mary and Dickon from the author’s popular book The Secret Garden.
In the urban forest The Ravine sits a granite bench that is dedicated to New York City’s planner, Andrew Haswell Green. This memorial bench was commemorated in the year 1929. It is surrounded by five maple trees that represent the five boroughs of New York. Visitors can sit on this bench and revel in the calm and serene surroundings.
