Spread across an area of 15 acres (6.07 hectares), the Gilfillan Farm is a working farm that dates back to 1850s. The family farm and the adjoining home are still in working condition, and Margaret Gilfillan, a family descendant, stayed here and tilled the farm until she died in 2001. She donated her property to the Historical Society of Upper St. Clair, it maintains and preserves this city landmark. You can tour the farm house along with the zoo, barns, toolshed and much more. The various farming tools and equipment give an insight into the farming techniques prevalent in 1850s. It also hosts special tours for schools and scout groups.
