Escape the hustle and bustle of the city by heading to the Headwaters Park. This is a large park that is located by the riverfront of the Saint Mary's River adding to its scenic beauty. The park is well maintained where the grass and trees are properly cut with designated seating areas. It also has an ice rink active during the winter where locals enjoy their time gliding on ice. This open ground is also used for local and private events.

Fort Wayne Park Maintenance is responsible for maintaining, preserving and enhancing more than 2,805-acres in over 80 parks. It maintains facilities, infrastructure, woodlands, lakes, ponds and water features, general park and athletic field turf, irrigation systems, landscapes, floral gardens and urban forest. It offers various services, including fleet and equipment management, staff training, planning and design, contract management, capital improvements, worker training and safety, waste management, litter control and facility security. Park Maintenance offers various programs to provide clean, well maintained, useable public parks for the recreation of all residents. It is operated by the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department. The maintenance division is located in Fort Wayne, Ind., and is responsible for more than 50 percent of the city s assets.
