George Washington Carver Memorial Garden

Tina Allen designed the immaculate, life sized, bronze sculpture of George Washington Carver that sits as the focal point of the George Washington Carver Memorial Garden in the Missouri Botanical Garden. The George Washington Carver Garden is a serene space near the Japanese Garden, and was brought to the location in 2005 as a tribute to the man who revolutionized 19th and 20th century agriculture. The sculpture of Washington is accented by a reflecting pool and adjacent to an amphitheater; perfect for small exhibitions and lectures. Visit the garden, read the history of the sculptor and the wisdom of George Washington Carver.

Head to the Gateway Arch Park Grounds to spend a lazy afternoon by the Mississippi River. The grounds are a part of the Gateway Arch which is also known as the Saint Louis Arch that was constructed in 1967. The grounds have a number of different plants in the Lewis and Clark Explorer's Garden where kids can discover numerous plant species. Families usually spend the afternoon under the warm sun relaxing or picnicking. You can also ride or cycle along the designated paths on the park grounds.
