Located down south, the Shaw neighborhood is a historic district in the city of St. Louis. The origin of this neighborhood dates back to the 19th century, when the French were still a strong force. They referred to it as the Prairie des Noyers. A lot of its buildings reflect historic architecture. The neighborhood derives its name from Henry Shaw, the founder of Shaw Botanical Gardens (formerly known as Missouri Botanical Gardens). Besides the gardens, Shaw is also home to the Tower Grove Park. Take a stroll around the area and experience a historic journey.
