Lee Park is spread across a large piece of land enclosed by First Street North East, Market Street and Jefferson Street. One of the highlights of the park is an arresting equestrian memorial dedicated to Robert E. Lee.

McIntire Park

A pocket of green in the otherwise bustling city, McIntire Park is a great place to seek respite from the regular rat-race. Named in honor of Paul Goodloe McIntire- the park's benefactor, it was designed to be a spot of recreation for the citizens of Charlottesville. Peppered with numerous walking and biking trails, designated picnic spots, a golf course, a softball pitch and a children's playground, there's plenty for every outdoor enthusiast to indulge in at this park. This is also the venue for the annual Dogwood Festival.
