Mill Mountain Zoo is located atop the beautiful Mill Mountains in Roanoke City. The zoo dates back to 1952 and was accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) in 1995. It houses more than 50 species of animals, birds, and reptiles; some of them rare and endangered. Enjoy a fun ride on 'Zoo Choo', the miniature model G-16 train which travels along the length and breadth of the zoo, through an animal-themed tunnel. A plethora of school trips, excursions and birthday parties are also held here.
