Launched in 1939, and operational for more than 40 years before being put out of service, the W. T. Preston is a sternwheeler that mainly functioned as a snagboat on several rivers in the Puget Sound area. Now a museum and a National Historic Landmark, the W. T. Preston allows visitors to catch a glimpse of its welded barge hull, wooden superstructure, and even browse through models, maps, and texts pertaining to the history of snag boats and their operations in the area.
