Duwamish (fireboat)

Duwamish is one of the most powerful fireboats in the United States. It was built in 1909 for the Seattle Fire Department in Richmond Beach, Washington. The steam engine is a double vertical one and is capable of speeds up to 12.1 miles per hour (19.4 kilometers per hour). Fighting the fire on the Grand Trunk Pacific dock was one of the most important rescue missions carried out by the Duwamish.
