Barrel Thief has been the neighborhood wine shop on Patterson Avenue in Westhampton since 2008. We buy small: growers, family estates, and producers who farm their own fruit. Nothing on our shelves is here because a distributor pushed it. If you tell us what you like and what you're eating, we'll find you something you haven't had, at whatever you want to spend. We have one of the deepest Virginia wine selections in Richmond. Booth Hardy, who owns the shop, is a Certified Sommelier, WSET Level 3, and a judge for the Virginia Governor's Cup, the Loudoun County Wine Competition, and the Shenandoah Cup. Alongside the wine: a growing beer program, pantry provisions from Virginia producers, and pasture-raised chicken from Pamplin. We run tastings, wine classes, and private events at the shop, and we deliver our own wine across Richmond every Friday. Free parking in front and in the lot behind the building.
