The best moving company in Bradenton for YOU

Labeling one mover as the best can be challenging, since the ideal company for you depends on your personal situation and budget. Need assistance relocating a large or unusually shaped item? Then you'll want to pick a mover with the right tools for heavy lifting. Or perhaps you have items that will require temporary storage? If so, focus on movers that provide suitable storage options. That said, we confidently support every company featured on this list. When gathering quotes, ensure that you contact several movers and compare multiple estimates before making a decision. Some companies may even match a competitor's price if you let them know you're comparing offers.

B&T Moving Company ranked in our number-one spot for the best movers in Bradenton. The company offers local and long-distance moving services within the state of Florida, as well as additional services such as packing, storage, junk removal and more. The hourly rate for a three-person crew and one truck is $180 per hour. You'll also pay a $175 truck fee that covers the cost of travel and moving materials. To book a local move, a $50 deposit is required. Long-distance moves will require a down payment of 15% to 20%. There are also discounts available for seniors, military and first responders.

Master Movers is our runner-up for the best local mover in the area. The company is based in Venice but offers its services throughout the entire state of Florida. You can hire them for help with moving, packing, storage and specialty item relocation. We were quoted about $2,500 to move a three-bedroom house. To obtain an accurate quote, you'll need to provide an inventory list of all the items in your home. They prefer to do this in person, but you can also provide a list over the phone. It's also worth noting that the minimum labor hours vary depending on the day of the week. For instance, there's a two-hour minimum for weekday moves, a three-hour minimum for Saturday moves and a four-hour minimum for Sunday moves.

Founded in 2014, Master Movers is a rapidly growing company that offers moving services throughout Florida and beyond state lines. Along with local and long-distance moving, you can also hire them for help with packing, storage and specialty item moving. We called the business to obtain an estimate of the cost to move our three-bedroom house within Bradenton. Although we received our quote, the estimate process was quite lengthy.

We ended up speaking with a total of three representatives before we were able to get a quote. The first time we called, we spoke with a customer service representative who took down some basic information. After that, we received a call from a different representative who took an inventory of our belongings over the phone, a process that you'll need to go through if you want an accurate quote.

Once our inventory was taken, we were told to wait for a call from a moving consultant to receive our quote. While the estimate process was extremely time-consuming, everyone we spoke with was friendly and ready to assist. Laina, the representative who took our inventory, gets an extra special shout-out. She was incredibly sweet and was great to hold a conversation with.

Services offered

  • Local and long-distance moving

  • Commercial moves

  • Packing and unpacking

  • Storage services

  • Senior moves

  • Specialty item moving

We were quoted about $2,500 for our move. This price includes the cost of three movers ($240 per hour), one truck, a travel charge ($338), fuel costs ($85) and the cost of various packing materials ($127). Travel and fuel costs are calculated based on the distance between their office and both the pick-up and drop-off addresses, so they will vary for every move. The same applies to the cost of materials — you'll be charged according to the type and quantity of packing and wrapping materials required for your items. They'll provide wrapping for your furniture, boxes for your TVs and mattress bags for an additional cost. Furniture will also be disassembled and reassembled as necessary.

The company has a different minimum hour policy that varies by day of the week. They have a two-hour minimum for weekday moves, a three-hour minimum on Saturdays and a four-hour minimum on Sundays. You'll also need to pay a $99 deposit to book your move, which is refundable up to five business days before your scheduled move date. Based on the information provided above, you can expect to pay at least $579 to move on a weekday, $819 to move on a Saturday, and $1,059 to move on a Sunday. Keep in mind that these minimum estimates don't account for travel, fuel and material costs. All of these charges add up pretty quick.

All payments can be made with cash, card, check or Zelle. Note that a 4% processing fee applies to all credit and debit card transactions. Additionally, we were told that all the movers are drug-screened and background-checked. They must also pass a two-week training course before starting on the job.

Master Movers is a BBB-accredited business with an A+ rating and two filed complaints. It has a 4.9-star rating on Google (1,130 reviews) and a 4.4-star rating on Yelp (44 reviews).

The business is located at 250 Center Ct., Venice, Fla., 34285. It is open 24/7. To get a quote started, you can either call 941-415-6169 or fill out the lead form on its website .

BLVD Moving is the best national moving company

The BLVD Moving crew prepares to load a moving truck

The BLVD Moving crew prepares to load a moving truck

At Yahoo Local, our goal is to feature the top local businesses, but we also understand that national moving companies can sometimes be the smarter choice, particularly for long-distance relocations. After evaluating multiple nationwide providers, we chose BLVD Moving as our top pick on the list of best national movers . For a deeper comparison, check out our guide on how to choose between local and national moving companies .

BLVD Moving is staffed by professionals with decades of experience in the moving industry. Although it currently operates only four offices in California, the company offers both local and long-distance moving services nationwide. It's a family-owned, independent business that owns its trucks and employs its own moving crews. However, the company's policy allows for the occasional use of subcontractors or agents, which is a standard industry practice during busy seasons, but is still worth noting.

We obtained a quote from BLVD for a 500-mile relocation involving roughly 1,340 cubic feet of household goods, similar to what you'd find in an average three-bedroom home without major appliances. The estimate came in at about $6,700, aligning with prices from other long-distance movers. To reserve a move, BLVD asks for a 33% deposit, with half of the remaining balance due at pickup and the rest upon delivery.

Services offered

  • Local and long-distance moves

  • Residential, commercial, and office relocations

  • Professional packing

  • Short- and long-term storage

  • Financing options for eligible customers

If you need to cancel, BLVD refunds deposits as long as you provide at least two business days' notice before pickup. Delivery timelines range from two to 21 business days depending on the distance. The timing begins from the preferred delivery date you select, which means longer hauls could take just over a month if the schedule runs on the far end of that range.

The company recommends booking at least 30 days in advance, and even earlier during high-demand periods, such as summer or at the start and end of the month. BLVD's quote process is straightforward, offering both virtual walkthroughs and online inventory forms for quick estimates. Customers who qualify can access financing options with interest rates beginning at 0%.

BLVD Moving holds a B rating with the Better Business Bureau and is accredited with 95 complaints filed, a number that's standard for large-scale national movers. Customer reviews show a 4.4-star average on Google (based on 1,255 reviews) and a 2.2-star rating on Yelp (from 375 reviews). All movers are direct employees who have passed background checks.

BLVD's headquarters are located at 21622 Plummer St., Chatsworth, Calif., 91311. The company operates daily from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. To get a quote, you can call 844-274-0500 or request one online .

The quote process is smooth, in our experience, requiring a simple online inventory, and BLVD's cancellation policy is relatively good.

  • Has its own movers and fleet
  • Local and long-distance moves
  • Offers virtual estimates
  • Background-checked crews
Cons
  • No GPS tracking
  • Mixed Yelp ratings

Florida moving FAQs

What info should you have when requesting an estimate?

The information movers need to create your estimate can differ by company and the complexity of their pricing methods. Some will simply request basic details, such as your home's size, number of bedrooms, and the pick-up and drop-off locations. Others may hold off on giving a quote until they've reviewed a full inventory of the items you intend to move

At the very least, you should be ready to provide the square footage of both your current and new homes, the exact addresses and details about any large or delicate items that need special handling. Many moving companies add extra fees for belongings that exceed specific weight thresholds, so sharing this information early helps prevent surprise charges. It's also important to note whether either property includes stairs or elevators, as movers often charge additional fees for these circumstances.

What should you know about packing and storage in Florida?

Florida stays warm all year-round, and it can become brutally hot and humid once spring and summer roll around. In Bradenton, average summer temperatures peak between 91 and 92 degrees Fahrenheit, while winter lows only dip to around 55 degrees Fahrenheit, according to U.S. Climate Data

Items such as electronics, art materials, synthetic clothing, beauty products and medications can be easily damaged by extreme heat and humidity. To keep them safe, consider moving these possessions in a climate-controlled vehicle. If you plan to use storage, opting for an indoor or climate-regulated unit might be worth the added cost.

What's different about condo and apartment moving in Florida?

When relocating to or from an apartment or condo , there's a good chance you'll have to deal with stairs. Many moving companies add fees for hauling items up several flights, and some may also charge for elevator use. In certain situations, movers determine costs based on the total number of steps climbed, though each company's policy differs. You might not be charged for one flight of stairs, but if your unit is located on the third floor or higher, you'll likely encounter an additional fee.

Do you need moving permits or licenses to move in Florida?

Moving companies in Florida are required to obtain a license from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS). They must also display their mover registration number on all advertisements and the driver's side door of their moving vehicles. You should also be able to see a certificate that shows proof of registration at the mover's primary place of business.

For more information, check out our in-depth guide on Florida's moving company licensing and regulations .

How much should you tip movers in Florida?

A common rule of thumb for tipping movers is to give between 10% and 20% of the total moving price . This recommendation works for both local and long-distance moves. However, tipping isn't mandatory — it's simply a gesture of gratitude. If the service falls short of your expectations, you're not required to leave a tip.
