Little Guys movers can remove TVs from walls, but aren’t able to rehang them. The crew can also move appliances, but can’t disconnect or connect water lines. The company also offers packing services at an hourly rate, but generally only offers unpacking by request.

Customer testimonial

" The team at Heavenly was outstanding. Chase and his crew arrived on time, and each team member introduced themselves. Chase also did a walk-through of our home with my wife to go over special requests and any items needing extra care. Everyone was courteous and professional, and it was clear they took pride in their work—the care and attention to detail was obvious in how they packed our furniture and belongings. If you have a move coming up, I highly recommend Heavenly. Great experience!" - Jad D., Google reviews (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

BLVD Moving is the best national moving company

A BLVD Moving semi-truck in a parking lot
A BLVD Moving semi-truck in a parking lot (BLVD Moving)

At Yahoo Local, we aim to feature strong local businesses while recognizing that nationwide moving companies may better serve certain customers or move types. If you are comparing a local provider with a national carrier, our guide on local movers vs. national moving companies can help clarify the differences. In our review of top national movers , BLVD Moving earned one of our highest overall ratings.

BLVD Moving is operated by relocation professionals with extensive experience in the moving industry. The company has four physical locations in California but provides both local and long-distance moving services nationwide. It is an independently owned, family-run business that maintains its own trucks and employs its own moving staff. Its terms and conditions state that subcontractors or third-party agents may assist with some moves. This practice is common within the industry and helps companies manage increased demand, though customers may want to keep it in mind.

To better understand costs, we requested a BLVD Moving estimate for a 500-mile move with an estimated shipment size of 1,340 cubic feet. This is roughly equivalent to the contents of a typical three-bedroom home without large appliances. The estimate came in at approximately $6,700, which falls within the expected range for long-distance moving services. A 33% deposit is required at booking. Half of the remaining balance is due at pickup, with the final payment collected at delivery.

Services Offered

  • Local and long-distance relocations

  • Residential, commercial and office moving

  • Professional packing

  • Storage solutions

  • Financing options

Customers who cancel at least two business days before their scheduled pickup qualify for a full refund of their deposit. BLVD Moving provides delivery windows ranging from two to 21 business days, depending on the destination. This window begins on the customer’s preferred delivery date, meaning some shipments may take longer than a month.

BLVD recommends reserving your move at least 30 days in advance. During peak seasons such as summer or at the beginning and end of the month, booking earlier is encouraged. The quote process is simple and can be completed through a virtual walkthrough or by submitting an online inventory form for a quicker estimate. Financing options are available, with rates starting at 0% for eligible customers.

BLVD Moving is accredited by the BBB and holds a B rating. The company has received 95 complaints, which is typical for a mover offering nationwide services. On Google, BLVD Moving maintains an average rating of about 4.5 stars from over 1,500 reviews. On Yelp, the company has a lower average rating of 2.4 based on 394 reviews. All movers are direct employees who have completed background checks.

The BLVD Moving headquarters is located at 21622 Plummer Street, Chatsworth, Calif. 91311. The company is open from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. local time every day of the week. You can call BLVD Moving at 844-274-0500 or request a quote online .

Customer testimonial

We are over the moon happy with everyone at BLVD Moving. From our initial contact with James, to follow up with Brian, and then move day with Armando and his crew, each team member has been communicative, accommodating, and transparent. They handled all of our items with care, even an upright piano. We would recommend BLVD to anyone moving near or far. - Molly W., Google reviews (⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐)

BLVD Moving is our top pick for a national mover due to its combination of experience, flexibility and relatively strong Google reviews. It has background-checked crews, but it also reserves the right in its terms and conditions to subcontract your move or assign it to agents. The quote process is smooth, in our experience, requiring a simple online inventory, and BLVD's cancellation policy is relatively good.

Pros
  • Has its own movers and fleet
  • Background-checked crews
  • Local and long-distance moves
  • Offers virtual estimates
Cons
  • Can subcontract jobs to other movers
  • Relatively high deposit
  • No GPS tracking
  • Mixed Yelp ratings

Texas moving FAQs

What info should you have when requesting an estimate?

To get started with an estimate, you’ll want to know a few details about where you’re moving from: the address, what kind of building it is (single-family house? Walk-up apartment?), and how big the space is. The moving company will also want to know where you’re moving to (in town? Across the state or country?), if you’ll be packing yourself or needing packing services, and if you have any special items (gun safes, pool tables, pianos, aquariums) that require specialized handling. For more information, see our guide to getting an accurate moving estimate .

What should you know about packing and storage in Texas?

While the Texas climate varies across the state, in general, you can expect hot summers (with the possibility of freezing temperatures in winter, especially in northern Texas) and precipitation all year round. If you’ll be storing your things for a longer period, or if your things include antiques, electronics, or wooden furniture that are sensitive to changes in the humidity and temperature, you may want to consider temperature-controlled or climate-controlled storage. For more on how to determine which option is better for you, check out our guide to the differences between the two storage options and our guide to which items require climate-controlled storage .

What's different about condo and apartment moving in Texas?

If you’re moving into or out of an apartment or condo in Texas, planning ahead for a few different issues can make your move day run smoothly. The first thing to do is check to see if your building requires that professional movers have a certificate of insurance (COI), a document that attests to their insurance coverage in the event of damage to the building or property. Most movers can provide this (but not all), and some will assess a fee for making a copy for your building, so make sure you have it sorted out in advance.

You’ll also want to find out from your building management company or super if there are any restrictions on using the elevator, if you have one, and if it needs to be reserved. If your building is a walk-up, knowing how many flights of stairs the move entails (and if there are any tight corners or obstacles to manage) in advance will help your moving company adequately staff your move as well.

Do you need moving permits or licenses to move in Texas?

There’s no statewide rule that individuals moving in Texas need to hold a permit or license to move in Texas, although any commercial household movers operating in the state are required to be licensed by both the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT) and the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles (TxDMV). In some cases, especially if you’re moving in larger cities, you may need to obtain a parking permit for the moving truck if it will impede the flow of traffic — your local DMV or City Hall can usually provide details. To learn more, check out our guide to licensing and regulation for moving companies in Texas .

How much should you tip movers in Texas?

How much you decide to tip your movers — and indeed, if you tip them at all, as tipping is completely optional — is up to you. But if you want to recognize great service, a good way to calculate an average amount is to take 10% to 20% of your total move bill and split it among the moving crew. Alternatively, you can tip a set amount per mover, per hour: $10 per crew member per hour is a common amount. For a deeper dive into tipping, check out our guide to tipping movers .
